The Possibility of Reducing Individual Motorised Traffic through the Location of Collection Points Using the Example of Gda?sk, Poland

Problems in urban areas at present are caused by the high traffic volumes of motor vehicles. Changing commercial behaviour into e-commerce reduces need for individual customers to visit shopping centres and increases freight transport geographically dispersed consumers. In this case, one solution reduce number lorry journeys may be collection points, such as a network parcel lockers. However, use points has only limited impact on reducing cars streets because half lockers still made car. This study assumes that consumers’ choice how collect their parcels depends available infrastructure time needed reach pick-up point, which distance from place residence/work/school. The purpose research was analyse location relation alternative places residence/work/school using Gda?sk, Poland, an example. analysis showed usually easily accessible car, not always foot, few cases bicycle.
